The Climb to Mt. Olympus
Mt. Olympus, the mystical home where the Olympian god’s reside. Here, Zeus himself lives atop of it ruling over as the top god. The Greek myths mention how these gods were praised and were admired by all the mere mortals. On September 19, 2015 the Olympians will all be standing side by side on a stage in Vegas, and among them, a Legend will be standing.
We have seen this man go from competing in a regional natural show in the OPA, to the Mr. World Physique where he earned his pro card, to winning the open Men’s physique division at the Vancouver pro show. These feats have all been amazing to say the least, but what is even more impressive is that this athlete whose origins are in the OPA has been able to achieve all this naturally. This man is Eren Legend.
Eren has now qualified for the Mr. Olympia contest, where he will be the first ever Men’s Physique athlete to represent Canada, at an impressive age of only 24 years old. In the open circuit of professional fitness competitions, there are many athletes who choose to take supplements that many consider to be unfair. But Eren from the beginning has made a decision to stay away from any supplement that cannot be purchased over the counter, and to be fighting with the world’s top athletes without that advantage, means he has to really be meticulous about every single aspect in his training, nutrition and recovery. He’s battled and beat these enhanced athletes before, not only because of his physique, but because of his presence. He makes the judges and audience experience his presentation as if it were a Cirque du Soleil act, which cannot be duplicated unless present. In his flawless transitioning of poses, it is evident Eren Legend demonstrates confidence that can only be acquired through triumph!
Battling for the highest title in physique is very demanding, and even though we see on stage an individual athlete competing for the best physique, there is always a major support group behind them. A big motivating factor for Eren includes his “legends”, which are athletes that Eren coaches to compete in physique competitions as well. When asked about his prep for the Mr. World contest, he mentioned:
“The thought that with every second of every minute I was investing in creating the future and legacy that I truly believe I deserve. To be able to reach a platform where I can reach out to others to motivate, educate, empower and inspire them with my experiences, kept me pushing forward even in my weakest moments.“
Not only has Eren been preparing himself for the Olympia, but he also feels like his growing clientele since his move to Toronto is a priority in his life, as he wants to help them reach their physique goals as much as his. Eren himself knows this is no easy task, but he enjoys this challenge, and wants to show others that they can achieve their dreams if they focus and work extremely hard towards their goals, just like he has done.
This man wants to leave a huge print in the world of Men’s Physique as we watch the Olympia. Come the 2015 Mr. Olympia contest, we will all be proud to see this Legend standing next to all the Olympians, representing Canada, rightfully where he belongs.
